Jays started the stronger and put the Beals defence under immediate pressure but the Beals back line of O’Dowd, Endean-Coyle and Lewis-Hastings held firm. Their strong performance enabled Beals to get into the game and their possession paid off when they eventually took one of the chances created as Mabena slotted the ball to James who caught the ball on the half-volley to finish off a fine move.
Second half saw Beals continue with the majority of the possession and they added a deserved second as Unwin found Price in space who finished well. Rather than look more comfortable this saw Jays have a very good spell and they got a deserved goal as they battled back into the game. Beals withstood the pressure and held off from conceding another and went on to add a third as de Andrade won back to back tackles which saw the ball break to James who ran half the length of the pitch before lobbing the keeper to score his second and Beals third.
