The club has been awarded the “FA Charter Development Club” of the year for the AFA as part of the FA Community Awards for 2009/10.

This is fantastic news, and recognition for all the hard work that goes into maintaining this standard. As most of us know, Bill does most of the work to ensure we remain compliant and on behalf of our all our members our thanks should go to him.

As well as the clubs achievement Ryan Long was awarded “Young Volunteer of the Year”, which is fantastic news. For those of you who don’t know Ryan below are some details of what he has been doing to deserve this recognition.

‘Ryan is 22yrs old has been with the club for approximately two years now coaching the children. He has gone from coaching the little tots to taking on the U15 team. He has developed both groups by hard work and effort. He gets on well with everyone and is renowned for his patience, one of the main qualities of being a coach we feel. He strives to improve his own knowledge so that he may improve the boys football too and is always looking for new idea’s to bring into the team and the club. His recent initiative has just opened up a new scheme that the club is about to trial for the first time based on football related fitness. It is this and his commitment to coaching that we have nominated him for this award.’
